Poster Children
Poster Children
Poster Children was formed in Champaign, Illinois in 1987 by Rick Valentin (guitar, vocals) and Rose Marshack (bass, vocals). Jim Valentin joined on guitar in 1991 and Matt Friscia (drummer #7) joined in 2001. They have released eleven studio albums, on various independent and major labels, and one feature-length film, “Zero Stars.” Known for their strong DIY ethic, the band members toured incessantly in the 1990s, driving their own van around the US and Europe, creating their own artwork and T-shirt designs, and operating their own record label. Poster Children were also pioneers in several forms of electronic technology relating to performance art, including enhanced CDs, webcasts, and blogs. The band will be releasing their 12th album, Grand Bargain!, in May 2018.

The Improbables
The Improbables
The Improbables initially formed in mid-1990s South Jersey out of a mutual and subsequently expanding love for Link Wray, Bo Diddley, Billy Childish, the Damned, Estrus Records, and the English Freakbeat comps. Spurred at the time by an oddly thriving Atlantic City independent music scene, the band honed their frenetic live set on the stage of the now defunct McGuire's Erin Bar and at a variety of Philadelphia venues. The Imps saw numerous lineup shifts over the ensuing years, disbanded for a while, and since reforming have established themselves as one of Philly's premier rock'n'roll trios. 2017 saw the release of their debut LP, “Object to be Destroyed,” on Baltimore’s Hidden Volume Records.

Equal parts 60-70's garage, soul, psychedelia and punk, the band's songs recall and preserve those moments in the life of rock 'n' roll when it was able to be self-aware without being self-conscious and when a good time was inevitable.
