Lightninging
Lightninging
Mark Cruttenden, Greg Foran, Greg O'neill, and Matt Williams are Lightninging - a handful of knuckleheads since old times that play 'American' rock and roll in the tradition of other 'American' rock and roll bands. Eyes closed, sad and sadistic, 'good loud' and guile-less music for having too good a time to. Ask them why they still do it. They'll tell you all about it.
Lola Pistola
Lola Pistola
Brooklyn-based Boricua Lola Pistola sounds is gritty and “falls somewhere between alt-grunge and noise pop.” Her full-length solo debut album Curfew, out September 29 on Burger Records, following the AJ Dávila produced “Tú Pensabas” in 2015 and last year’s Everyday/Routine EP comes after years of touring with AJ Dávila and Terror Amor. Her music is introspective, contemplative, and “with white-knuckle bursts contrasted by stretches of soft, serene vocals.” Armed with a guitar for every live show and accompanied by Pink Mexico’s front-man Robert Preston on drums, Lola’s thrilling set is as intimate as it a thunderous burst of adrenalized, unbridled energy.
F. Woods and The Fellow Humans
F. Woods and The Fellow Humans
F. Woods fuses folklore and surf-punk as a bed for his old-timey, end-timey tales. His classical technique makes his reverb- strewn guitar sound like it came from another world. Channeling the oddity of his characters while hurling his entire body into his performance is a spectacle not to be missed.
